Theatre Alberta is a registered charity that inspires and educates Albertans—young and old, urban and rural—about live theatre. We proudly represent ~1,000 individual and group members from across the province, providing responsive programs, services, and advocacy that connect:
rural to metropolitan > Edmonton to Calgary > Northern to Central to Southern
high school drama teachers and students > post-secondary theatre instructors and students > professionals > hobbyists > enthusiasts > audiences
Our core programs and services include the operation of Canada’s largest public theatre Library; Artstrek, a summer theatre school for teens; Emerge, an annual general audition showcase for post-secondary acting graduates; Workshops by Request in towns across the province, as well as master classes at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity; The Playbill, a comprehensive listing of the Alberta theatre season; and a website featuring theatre-related classifieds.
